Gunmen have abducted the Emir of Kajuru, Alhassan Adamu at his residence in Kajuru Local Government Area in Kaduna state. With reports alleging that 13 other members of his family were taken along.

The second-class ruler was kidnapped in a night raid with this event adding to the long series of kidnappings that have been going on in the North-Western state for a while now.

A cabinet member in the Emir’s chamber confirmed that the 85 year old Emir was kidnapped along with three women, two of his grand children, three of his aides and five others.

Sources confirmed the Emir had summoned a security meeting a day prior to the attack about a potential ploy to kidnap him but security agents failed to act on it.
Series of calls put across to Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, and the Police Public Relations Officer, Jalige Mohamed were not answered.

Just last week, it was reported that over 130 students were kidnapped in a boarding secondary School causing the government to shut down over 20 schools.

Issues of abductions have become rampant especially in the North where banditry has taken over most of the areas crippling econmic activities and causing mass terror on the citizens.
