EURO 2020: Fans Angry at England Penalty Decision.

Although a lot of people had decided that England were the clear favourites to win Wednesday’s UEFA EURO Semi Finals against Denmark, the game took a quite different turn when Mikkel Damsgaard scored a sensational freekick on the 30th minute.

Now, England was left scrambling for survival but before the first half elapsed, Bukayo Saka’s ball in forced an own goal from Kjær, making the game gain a balance before half time.

Because were no goals in the second half though both teams played exceptional football, the game went into extra time.

The game got into a twist when the referee awarded a controversial penalty after he made a call that Raheem Sterling was fouled in the 18-Yard box.

The move which led to the penalty

Although Denmark’s goalie, Kasper Schmeichel initially saved the Penalty kick which was taken by Harry Kane, Kane finished off the rebound comfortably.

This penalty call has generated mass criticisms from football fans and analysts all over the world with most of them being of the view that there was no foul to begin with.
