It is a day to be remembered in the faculty of SAAT, federal university of technology owerri (FUTO), as professor (mrs) nnenna oti was selected as the first ever female and 8th substantive VC to represent the university.
She was the deputy VC of the university untill her new appointment as the new VC
She succeeds the outgoing vice chancellor, prof francis eze.
Prof Nnenna Oti hails from Ebonyi state.
The decorated professor will be inaugurated on the first of july 2021.

After a detailed calculation she stepped up to beat six other candidates who also contested for the position with 75.5 points.
It was also gathered that her closest competitor professor ikechukwu dozie scored 69.7points.
After the voting which took almost the whole day, her appointment was made known to the public by the pro chancellor and chairman of council prof john offem.
In his remarks he said that there were a total of 29 applications at the initial stage and only seven of them made it to the final stage.
