Rotimi Amaechi has announced that the Abuja-Kaduna train service will resume operations on Saturday 23 October.

The Transport Minister said this while inspecting the damage to the tracks on Friday.

The train service was suspended on October 21 after an attack by armed men on the train from Abuja to Kaduna on Wednesday, October 20.

The minister said that repairs on the damaged roads had been completed.

“The important thing is that the repair was carried out by our Nigerian engineers and was completed in record time.

“They moved in today and finished today and tomorrow, we hope that the first train will work,” Amaechi said.

Rotimi revealed that the government is cooperating with security agencies that are already working to stop the bandits.

“When I arrive in Abuja tomorrow, I will see the leadership of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Chief of the Army General Staff. We will find the people behind the attack, ”said the minister.
